Dr Alissa Jacobs completed a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Western Australia followed by a Graduate Diploma in Dental Primary and Public Health focusing on the impact of social factors on oral health in Australia. Following years of working in remote WA, Alissa returned to metropolitan Perth spending her time working as a general dental practitioner, tutoring pre-graduate intern dental students and teaching head and neck anatomy at the University of Western Australia. Alissa went on to complete a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology at UWA. Alissa was an active member of the head and neck cancer team at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital for 5 years and now works as a clinical consultant in private practice at Perth Oral Medicine and Dental Sleep Centre as well as lecturer for Oral Medicine at UWA. Alissa is a member of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australiasia and has completed post-doctorate studies in temporomandibular dysfunction and orofacial pain. She has an interest in temporomandibular joint disorders and spends time in the orofacial pain clinic at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia. Her private practice focuses on the treatment of Orofacial Pain, Oral Diseases and Dental Sleep Medicine.
