Jane McCarthy has been a registered specialist periodontist for over 20 years in Perth at her practice Applecross Periodontics. Having graduated from the University of Sydney in 1984 with honours Jane worked as a general dentist for 6 years in Victoria and then in England before moving to Perth.  From 1990-1991 she was a lecturer at the Dental School at UWA in Restorative Dentistry before undertaking specialist training in Periodontics at the University of Melbourne completed at the end of 1993.  During 1994 and most of 1995 Jane was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Indiana University undertaking advanced dental implant training, research in osteoporosis and teaching periodontics at all levels. Since returning to Perth to specialist practice Jane has been involved in many professional societies, has lectured extensively locally and internationally and has co-authoured a textbook chapter on multidisciplinary dentistry.  Applecross Periodontics offers all aspects of the speciality of periodontics to our patients with the goal being to maintain a healthy functioning dentition for life through education, quality treatment and long term follow up.
