Dr Howard Holmes completed his Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Western Australia (UWA) and was dux of his 1993 graduating year. After four years in general dental practice, Dr Holmes went on to complete a specialist Masters degree (MDSc) in Orthodontics in 2000. Dr Holmes is a registered Orthodontic Specialist with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA) and is an active member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, the World Federation of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists and the Dental Study Group of Western Australia. In 2013 Dr Holmes was awarded honorary Fellowships of the International College of Dentists (FICD) and the Academy of Dentistry International (FADI) in recognition of his meritorious service and dedication to the dental profession. Dr Holmes has held numerous professional appointments but most notably was the WA Federal Councillor for the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO) from 2015-2022 and Federal President of the ASO from 2020-2022. Dr Holmes works in private specialist orthodontic practice in Cannington and Margaret River.
